Direct-To-Deck Roofing Tile

Gerard offers three non-batten profiles. Non-Batten Tile and Shake are a modified version of the profiles which can be installed directly onto the roof deck (without the need of battens). Our stone-coated steel roofing shingles are designed to mimick the look of high profile archutectural shingles and are mounted directly to the roof deck. Gerard roofing is designed to deliver performance and results far and above typical roofing industry expectations, repeatedly and reliably, under the most testing of weather conditions.  A Gerard stone-coated metal roof takes steel roofing tile, shake and shingles to new heights in reliability, performance and beauty.

Why Choose Our Tile , Shake or Shingle Profile Roofing?

Gerard Roofing Saves You A Lot Of Money!

Though the initial cost of installing a Gerard metal roof may be more than some other available roofing materials, consider that the average homeowner replaces and repairs their roof more than 3 times in a lifetime! By choosing a Gerard Metal Roof the first time, you will not only save a lot of money in future repair / replacement costs, reduced insurance premiums in most states, and likely reduction in utility bills, but you will also enjoy a higher property resale value - much higher, as your roof replacement cost is usually one of the biggest negotiation points of a home sale. Saving money however is only one of the many benefits you will enjoy from installing a Gerard metal roofing system! See the proof from our home owner showing how a Gerard metal roofing fights price inflation.

10 X Lighter, 20 X More Compact, and 100 X Stronger!

When compared with conventional clay and cement barrel tile, our roofing is exponentially lighter, stronger and more compact! Our stone coated steel metal roofing is not only the toughest, but also one of the most lightweight roofing materials available, and weighs only 1.5 pounds per square foot. IN new building construction Gerard roofing weight savings can translate into significant building cost savings. On existing buildings the material strength and weight savings make Gerard one of the safest roofs in seismic regions and a great alternative to traditional concrete and clay tile which weigh as much as 15 pounds per square foot! The difference between using Gerards lightweight stone coated steel metal roofing over concrete or clay roofing products results in almost 10 times less weight pushing down on your homes structure. See what architects say about how Gerard metal roofs can save money on new building construction!

It's a Dry Under-Deck Roofing System

Traditional cement, terracotta and and porcelain tile  all rely on a moisture barrier underlayment to be placed under the tile. This moisture barrier underlayment is usually tar paper, which over time, will dry , crack and be breached by moisture, forcing you to change your roof covering. Gerard's roof tiles do not absorb moisture, and when installed as designed holds the distinguished classification of being a "dry under-deck roofing system".  Moisture absorbtion makes these already heavy materials even heavier, and the unsightly mold, fungus and algea growth which results from it speeds up the degration of the traditional roofing material. The traditional barrel roofing materials are usually cleaned with harsh chemicals or high pressure which further degrade the materials.

Far More Durable than Traditional Roofing

Gerard stone coated steel metal roofing is designed and built to withstand the harshest of elements for a minimum of 50 years, guaranteed! Our metal roofing is made from 3/16 galvalume coated steel - the most workable and durable metal roofing material available. Combine this with our highly durable and generously poured-on acrylic base coating embedded with poured-on stone chips, and you have the most durable and attractive roofing material available. Unlike traditional barrel tile roofing Gerard's Barrel Vault metal roof panels will never crack or or break, and you will save alot of money and time in cleaning and repairs! The classic looks of a Gerard Barrel Vault metal roofing system will stand the test of time, and always look beautiful. See how our metal roofing is built to last!

Energy Efficient No Matter The Color

Stone coated steel tiles offer more diversity when it comes to installation of metal roofing systems. With Gerard's metal roof tiles, customers have the option of Direct to Deck Batten installation ,or counter batten installation. Using the Counter Batten installation method, you will create 3" of highly ventilated air space between the roof tile and deck, which is highly efficient in both hot and cold climates. This “dead air” buffer zone between your new Gerard metal roof and old roof also insulates against radiant heat entry during the Summer months, and heat loss in the winter months. What a beautiful way to lower your energy bills!

The Best Protection Against Snow And Ice

If you live in a area that is prone to snow and ice, there is no better roof than a Gerard stone coated steel metal roof. Each year, homeowners across America spend millions of dollars repairing damage caused by ‘Ice Damming’. With a Gerard Stone Coated Steel Roof, Ice Damming is virtually eliminated because of the air layer between the metal roof panels and the roof deck. This highly insulating characteristic causes the snow on your roof to melt much faster than on conventional roofs, greatly reducing the possibility of water freezing at the edges of your roof. Read more about how our metal roofing protects!

Our Roofing Fights Price Inflation
We experience price inflation every day. Unfortunately, this is an unavoidable and unstoppable part of life. That does not mean that we cannot do anything about it, however. By taking action in other areas of our mandatory expenses, we can substantially reduce living costs that we may have previously considered to be just as inevitable as price inflation. This article explores how metal roofing can help you manage cringe-worthy price rises.

When exposed to normal and extreme climatic conditions, many roofing products can only last up to two decades; some withstand as little as ten years. For homeowners, a roof should be an investment that set their minds at ease rather than one that evokes the stress of upcoming maintenance or replacement work—especially when a quality roof could make these issues avoidable. The roofing industry has worked hard to advance beyond the weakness of short lasting roofs, pushing many metal roofing technologies to the forefront.

For over a half century, Gerard Roofing Technologies has been leading the way in providing top-quality metal roofing structures for home and business owners across the United States. To get a visual on how prices have risen since these companies first started making waves, we can compare a trip to the movies then, which would have cost around 75 cents, to now: today’s cinema ticket prices typically start from $8 whereas extras, like a ‘meal deal’ including soda and a tub of popcorn, are seldom priced below $10. Although roofing products tend to double in price with each passing decade, Gerard’s long-lasting roofing systems have a proven track record of increasing homeowners’ savings, making arresting living expenses seem to be a possibility after all.

The longevity of Gerard's roofing systems takes homeowners out of the vicious and costly cycle of re-roofing with further security added by non-prorated 50-year transferable warranties. Moreover, Gerard's roofs substantially raise homes’ appearances and, consequently, their re-sale values. Remodeling Magazine showed a chart from the National Realtors’ Association that tracked the re-sale value of homes with top-quality metal roofs. They found an immediate 63% return on investment for high-end roofing systems. Homes with these roofs also had high re-sale values, unlike the homes with systems that are often used as negotation tactics against the current homeowner.

The ability of metal roofs to produce environmental benefits is another cost saving feature. From a monetary perspective, this means that homeowners will be eligible for tax credits as well as insurance discounts in many cases. Furthermore, utility bills have the potential to be reduced by up to 40%. One homeowner expressed gratitude of his new metal roof’s excellent performance just one year after its installation. While addressing the investment’s cost and return, the homeowner summed up exactly what Gerard has been delivering since their inception: “Other types of roofing would have been substantially less expensive, but would not have offered the outstanding appearance, peace of mind and energy savings of our Gerard Roofing System”. To provide evidence of his savings, he enclosed a copy of his energy bill, pictured below. Notice the drastic 60% energy-usage decrease from the previous year. This decreased usage has remained consistent.

Although there is not much to do to control price inflation, Gerard’s roofing systems have been helping homeowners across many different climates drastically lower their costs of living, including through reductions in roof maintenance and utility bills as well as enabling them to qualify for insurance discounts and tax credits. 2.5” Hail Stone & 120 MPH Wind Warranty

Not all metal roofing tiles are the same. Our 3/16 inch steel roof tiles are made from the highest quality steel available. Our steel roofing tiles are also some of the thickest and most durable metal roofing systems available, and guaranteed to stand up to 2.5 inch hail which is a Class 4 Impact Rating ! Just read about our customers real life hail experiences , or watch the slideshow of photos showing Gerard roofs versus Other roofs Hail Damage caused during a 1997 Dallas hail storm.

The United States experiences more tornados each year than the rest of the countries in the world combined. Tropical cyclones and hurricanes strike the far southern areas of the United States and its east coast. Not only do hurricanes cause heavy rains, but the wind speeds associated with them wreak destruction throughout the areas they hit. Similarly, tropical cyclones are coupled with intense winds and tornadic activity.

Gerard’s roofing systems are backed by a lifetime 120 mph wind warranty
to further solidify the protection that this investment will provide your home with. Though the warranty guarantees the roof to shield against winds up to 120 mph, Gerard roofing systems are documented to have withstood much higher wind pressure, such as during the recent Washington, Illinois, tornadic storm with winds up to 190 mph. In conclusion, choosing Gerard for your next roofing project will allow you to benefit from the security and savings of the best roof in the industry, despite what the elements throw your way.

Class “A” Fire Rating

Gerard stone coated steel metal roofing systems are non-combustible, and offer the best fire protection rating in the industry, and the best protection for your home against outside fires. Our interlocking overlapping tile technology provides no access for windblown embers to penetrate under your roof and ignite wood under-framing. Couple our fire-proof metal roofing tiles with the insulating characteristics of a batten installation system, and there is no better metal roofing system you can install to protect your home more! Read how this Gerard metal roofing protected a Glendora CA home against fires, again!

Consistently Looks Better than Traditional Roof Tile

Thanks to our wide color range and proprietary stone chip blending abilities, Gerard roofing tiles can mimick any traditional barrel tile color. Additional dimension is created using our proprietary coating technologies to add darker or lighter toned accents on each metal barrel tile.  Not only will your gerard Barrel Vault roof display more dimension and color than traditional concrete or clay tiles, it will continue to look better over time requiring the least amount of maintenance and upkeep. Unlike shingles or traditional barrel roofing materials, our stamped metal roofing panels do not absorb moisture. Moisture creates mold, mildew and fungus which accelerates the breakdown of traditional roofing materials. To further enhance our galvalume steel panels we generously coat our panels under a fountain of high quality acrylic basecoat and poured on Stone Chip coatings made to withstand 50 years of all weather effects.
